The south porch is the main entrance into the church and is a solidly built structure which we can imagine has sheltered many people before they enter the church.  On the outside wall are two lovely carved stone angels, and above is a niche with a representation of St. Margaret of Antioch, and a church cross at the apex.

Our photographs from our various visits show a few small changes - in 2014 there was a notice from the Churches Conservation Trust attached to the outside wall which was not there in September 2004 and in 2025 the notice had gone.  Likewise, our first visits show some screens in the outer archway which were not there in 2025.
