The heart of the Swindon town shopping is called the Brunel Centre. It was built in the 1970s and over the last few years has gone through a programme of updating. We have some photographs taken at different times showing these changes but it can feel rather disorientating. One major change can be seen in the second and third photographs - they are taken from roughly the same position but look rather different. Note the flooring has been completely changed from red brick square patterns to more earthy tones which has darker stones flowing along.
Inscription on paving in Canal Walk with information about the Wilts & Berks Canal which used to run along this very spot. More photographs (of paving) More photographs (of former route) More photographs (of canal at Wichelstowe)
