This ceiling is decorated with wooden panels which have been carved and painted and each has an heraldic shield inside.  When new it must have been absolutely spectacular.

We took some photographs of it in June 2002 and at that time wrote:  "This ceiling, in the Chantry, is due to be renovated (cleaned and conserved) when enough money has been raised by the Friends of Bromham and Sandy Lane Churches.  The ceiling is good to look at now, so will be even more splendid when renovation is complete.  We hope to return to take photographs of the finished work."  It took thirteen years before we did return and we were told although some work has been done, there is still more to do.

After the three older photographs and the new one of the entire ceiling, our photographs show each panel, starting with the panel in the top left of the photograph and moving right.  After these panels are some of the beautifully carved bosses and other decorations.
