According to a small panel which is part of this mural, 'The Folly' was designed and painted by Sarah Tisdall in the summer of 1989 assisted by Gina Whitfield, Georgina Tisdall and David Isles; it was funded by Thamesdown Borough Council and the Southern Arts Association.
The mural covers 3 storeys so the artists must have had a good head for heights! It covers one wall of a room inside the Milton Road Baths - in what used to be the Garden Cafe area - and is too large for our camera to take it all in one shot. We are fortunate the mural is in such good condition, thanks to it being located inside a building, as many of Swindon's outdoor murals have been lost due to erosion from our harsh British weather.
