Mandy attended this school about 1973 - 1974

Mandy has fond memories of this school because she had so many friends here; in fact she is still in contact with one of them.  She left at the end of the second term of the second year when she moved away, but not before the class photograph was taken by her form teacher Mr Mumford.  Maybe having the photograph has helped her remember so many more names than at her other schools.  On her last day at Ferndale Mr Mumford wrote a poem for Mandy whilst the class was having a science test.  When we had finished he read it out to the class and we all laughed so much as he had included bits about her class mates.  Mandy still has this poem!

Mr Smith was the Head whilst Mandy was here, and other teachers she can remember are Mrs Russian (Biology and Games teacher who was a bit scarey but really nice if you weren't naughty), Mr Court (Art), Mr Mills (Music) and Mr MacDonald (he didn't teach Mandy, but she remembers the school singing Old MacDonald Had A Farm to him one assembly).

The school building is now used for other things, including School of Health and Social Care (Oxford Brookes University).
