This is one of those times it would be nice to have a helicopter or at least a very tall ladder! Faringdon Road Park is an area of grass circled by trees. These photographs are taken, roughly, in a circle going around the park anti-clockwise.
The park is situated next to the
Railway Village, which was built to house workers of the Great Western Railway. A Fete was held here annually for many years which has recently been revived; time will tell if there is enough response to continue this as an annual event. There are many books to be bought about old Swindon and nearly all will mention the park and fete, and probably have photographs of children enjoying the event.
Nowadays the park is used by people to exercise their dogs and themselves, perhaps play football or just lazing around watching others being active.
See Swindon Council's website about the park:
Website and in particular the PDF file giving details of the history of the park.
