Blue Plaque for Egbert of Wessex, Swindon, Wiltshire
These blue plaques are to remember Egbert of Wessex and the Battle of Ellandun/Ellendun of September 825.
There are two plaques - the original one we photographed in 2014 but we don't know when it was installed; this plaque was broken in September 2018 when we took another photograph. The second plaque was installed in 2019, and the text does differ from the first.
