The dam at one end of the lake was still undergoing repair during our visit in 2006 .  By September 2011 the work was complete - see the notice in photograph 0040 below for details about the work carried out.  The revetments (retaining wall) is Grade II listed - listing details can be seen at the  Historic England  website.

Please note - the first photograph below was taken using the 'panoramic' setting on the camera, which stitches many pictures together to make one wide photograph.  Although it is good to view a wider area in one photograph it does mean the route of the wall is somewhat distorted and gives a false impression of a bend.  See the 'normal' photographs below to see it's true course.
