Danvers Family
Lady Anne Danvers (tomb)
Henry Danvers (monument)

This tomb to Sir John and Lady Anne Danvers is to the left of the altar.   The tomb has brass engravings on the top - a large one which depicts Sir John and Lady Anne dressed as a knight and his lady, and four crests (one in each corner) - follow link to see   sketches.

It was noticed in May 2004 that someone had tried to prise these brasses from their setting, but fortunately the workmanship proved too good and the brasses remained in place.

Running around the rim of this memorial is an inscription.   Unfortunately some of the photographs are blurred.   We took lots of close up photographs and put them together after - these have made very large file sizes, so we made a copy at a lower quality which won't be as easy to read but will take no where near as much time to download.   You will probably need to download the full size photo to your computer to be able to zoom in to read the words (click on the thumbnail, then copy larger photo).   Because of the programing we use, viewing the two full size photographs on line will not look different on your monitor, but they ARE different qualities.
