Lambourne in Berkshire is famous for its race horsing industry. On the few
occasions we have passed through the village it has always been rather noisey and busy
with traffic - both human and mechanical. St. Michael's is in a central location in the village.
We would like to know where Main Street was located - jockey Luke Snowden was living at no. 64 at the time of the
1861 census - but current road names do not include Main Street. Maybe it isn't meant as the street name,
just referring to the main street in Lambourne. We did try looking for 64 High Street (being one of the main
streets) but the numbers don't go up as far as that. If you can help by either telling us what it is currently
called or that it no longer exists, we will be pleased to hear from you. Thank you.
