Kington St. Michael page   or   Main Index

We have reproduced Pages 130 - 145 from the book and the sketches found at the back of the book.   The main text was written by John Aubrey in the 1660s, the notes (under the text) by John Jackson in the 1860s, and the plates are by Edw. Kite.   As there are so many pages, we have been divided them into four:

Pages 130 - 135
Pages 136 - 140
Pages 141 - 145
Plates (sketches)

Beware!   - these pages are not thumbnails and may take a while to download to your computer - each page averages 400kb.

You may notice shaded areas at the side of some pages - this is where the pages were not flat against the scanner - I didn't want to damage the book by pressing it flat.

These pages are from the book   Wiltshire Collections   by John Aubrey and John Jackson, published by the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society in 1862.

The book is no longer covered by copyright regulations.   The Society is happy for information from the book to be copied, although ask that an acknowledgement to the Society is placed with the reproduction.   (The copyright of these images from the book is owned by Mandy Ball so they are covered by copyright regulations - see our   copyright conditions   of use.)   The Society can be contacted at:   The Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, Long Street, Devizes, Wiltshire.   Telephone:   +44 (0)1380 727369.
