The inside of this church appears on first entering, quite shabby. Then you realise that everything is hundreds of years old and you then are amazed that it is still here! The wall paintings are a prime example - considering their age they are wonderful and plentiful.
How interesting to see the inside of a church that was not restored during the Victorian period. It is with mixed feelings we realise what a good job they did to preserve so many of our church buildings whilst glad they left this one alone so we can see it in its original form.
This church re-affirms are amazement that these beautiful and ancient buildings are to be found in most villages in England, every one of them unique and packed with our history.
