Inside Stained Glass Memorials Aubrey/Jackson info. Gravestones: B C D G H I M P R S T U W |
Foxley has a long history - the village being mentioned in the Domesday Book (as Foxelege) - and the list of
Rectors dates back to 1334. The church has some good stained glass windows and although everything feels
very old, it is in relatively good order for its age, and feels most welcoming. At one time Foxley and
Bremilham were one parish. The church of Bremilham is located
close by, on Cowage Farm.
The second photograph below was taken by Mandy's father, Donald Lea, in 1990 - he was visiting this church on
family history business. The third photograph was taken at the funeral of Mandy's great great grandfather
John Lea on 20th June 1924.
