When John Aubrey visited Crudwell church in the 1650s he commented "Here are the best and most substantial seats anywhere, built by one Walton whose name is expressed in a rebus in carved work thus."

We photographed most of the carved pew ends, but as they are dark wood in an unlit aisle, the quality of the photographs is not very good.
