Gravestones at Christ Church, Swindon, Wiltshire

This monument is dedicated to William and Martha Morris and eight of their children.  It is now located in the Garden of Reflection (to the south side of the church) and was originally located a short distance away; the monument was moved to make way for an entrance into the Community Centre.  Below are photographs of the monument in its current location followed by some in its original location (taken in 2004) - we have included both sets of photographs of the dedications.

A photograph of William can be seen at flickr.com:  view Photograph

The Garden was created in 2014 by Rachel Titcombe - see Photographs  of the Garden.

William founded the Swindon Evening Advertiser newspaper in 1854.  After William died in 1891 three of his sons (Frank, William & Samuel) took over the paper.
