Lyneham is about 10 miles south west of Swindon and was originally a small village.   Due to it now being home to a large R.A.F. base, it has grown tremendously over the last 40 years, although still has the feel of a village about it.   Old houses mingle with modern ones, but all have to bear the noise of aircraft taking off and landing.   The Parish church is called St. Michaels & All Angels.

The church building is in good condition, and inside is very peaceful indeed.   If you are able to visit this church and go inside, do take the time to sit and take in the beauty of the surroundings.   A leaflet is available which gives lots of interesting information about the church's history.
