The history leaflet available inside Christ Church at Derry Hill tells us this church was built in 1839 and was originally a 'Chapel of Ease' for the residents, and became the parish church in 1840.   The leaflet goes on to show that to December 2000 there had been 2736 Baptisms, 1273 Marriages and 2388 Burials.
