Eric attended Central School, then Woodmans as a trainee electrician. He moved to Newnam Hender and was a factory electrician for many years.
Eric was too young to serve in the fighting forces for WW2, and was a messenger in the Civil Defence. He did his National Service in the Military Police.
Eric returned to Daniels as Electrical Foreman, until his ill health with cancer of the bladder forced him to stop work.
