patient as sometimes we are inundated with e:mails - we receive well over 100 each day.
If you want to send us photographs of family members as e:mail attachments, please tell us first so we know to expect an
attachment - unless we are expecting one or recognise the address, e:mails with attachments are deleted unopened.
Put something like 'Family Photos' in the Subject heading would be useful.
If you are family we will be pleased to receive information about yourself - we're always eager to know birthdays,
marriages dates, schools attended, qualifications, where you've lived, what you've done etc. Only send us
information you don't mind us knowing about and can share with other family members. Then you can do the same
for your branch of the family, as long as they don't mind of course.
You may notice some surnames have brackets round them - this indicates we do not know the person's surname but rather
than leave it blank we've put their husband/wife/partner/parents surname in brackets so we can make a connection to
someone else. This mainly happens when a woman is married and we don't know her maiden name. Sometimes
we know a maiden name and that she married and had children but we don't know her married name and thus the surname
of the children. As we have collected information we have found many people don't use the first name they
were given; some choose to use their second name or are know by something different. We would prefer to record
a persons 'real' name and add 'Known as ...'. We will be pleased to be informed of correct names.
