Chapter Sixteen

THE CHILDREN OF:
ERNEST GEORGE & QUEENIE MAY LEA

Firstly we have a collection of photographs taken of George and Queenie’s children during and after the second World War.   For us children they are reminders of our childhood and youth.   We then see ourselves as parents with our own families.

Cousins

Ron (standing) and Tony Lea in Gorse Hill Recreation Field, 9 June 1933.   Ethel, Ron’s mother, took the two boys there to look after them, whilst her sister-in-law Queenie, gave birth to her second child, that child of course being myself.
